St Paul steps in Greece

The footsteps of Apostle Paul is more than a tour of Greece—it’s a sacred journey through the biblical landscapes following the footsteps of Saint Paul.

Designed especially for faith-driven travelers from around the world, and primarily for Evangelical Christians, Via Paulus invites you into a Christ-centered experience of Scripture, prayer, history, and spiritual reflection.
With a spirit of ecumenical openness and deep biblical authenticity, this pilgrimage is rooted in the Gospel and guided by grace. You will walk ancient roads where Paul preached, worship in places where the early Church gathered, and encounter the rich living tradition of Orthodox Christianity.

Starting from Areopagus - Mars hill

As is already known, Saint Paul visited the site in order to give a lecture about Christian faith. It was the period that the new religion was expanding in Greece. Greece- at that times called Achaia- was occupied by Romans back then. But Athens hosted its famous Schools, that were not yet closed, something that happened 500 years later.

Saint Paul was not really welcomed in Athens, and it is said that he run to hide at a well located at the sout of the hill. After that he visited Corinth, where he found a strong Jewish community, who welcomed him.

In Athens he managed to create an initial core of followers, Dionysius and Damaris. His visit is estimated around 51-52 AD, during the reign of Gallion, brother of philosopher Seneca.
