Ermou Street

Ermou Street is Athens’ main 1.5 kilometer pedestrian and shopping street. The street is connecting two main spots of Athens, Syntagma metro station (red line 2) to the Kerameikos archaeological site, near metro line 3 station, passing from Monastiraki Square and Athens Flea Market. 

Ermou street hosts main brands, such as Zara, H&M, Marks & Spencer, local boutiques, cafes, and the 11th-century Church of Kapnikarea. From Kapnikarea you can start your Orthodox church journey across Plaka and Athens, travelling in time back in 11th century. 

Ermou street is a bustling, central artery for fashion and culture. If you want a different type of walking experience around Athens, you can check Areopagitou pedestrian, that also meets Kerameikos site, but passes from Thisio metro, green line no1.
