Elefsina

A holy place that connected ancient Greek religion with Athens and Attica. It was also highly appreciated during Roman times, as all ancient religion sites (Delphi, Olympia, Sounio). Elefsina was actually the home of ancient Greek religion, and it was when at that time that Eleusinian mysteries stopped, when the ancient Greek world really came at its end. 

Elefsina Museum

Today there is an amazing museum, where you can see some of the findings. Nevertheless, Elefsina is actually an open air museum!
