Are you looking for something more enjoyable than the center of Athens? There are numerous beaches, small traditional villages, marinas, local restaurants that serve magnificent dishes. Well a practical and must approach is to explore East of Athens and behind the mountain Immitos, moving towards Athens Airport. 

You can also use Attiki Odos network (that connects Athens airport to Elefsina and has many exits along its way, passing on the north axis of Athens). 

East Attica has historical destinations as Marathon, Nea Makri, Rafina,  Spata, Oropos, Lavrio, Kalyvia. In all these locations there are places where you can try food, wine, drinks, sea and beaches, at Attica coasts like Artemida and hidden spots. 

From Athens to Evia

From Attica beaches you can get to the Evia island. Firstly from Oropos you can pass to Eretria by ferry, then from Agia Marina port in the north you pass to the village of Styra and from Rafina to Marmari in South Evia.
