Cine Thisio, Athens’ oldest cinema
Thisio Open Air cinema is one of the oldest cinemas in Athens, built in 1935.
It has a continuous operation since then, with a short break during WWII.
Since 1980, the cinema has been in the Maniakis family, and has been taken care of and transformed into a quaint little paradise in the historical center of Athens, right underneath the Acropolis, opposite Areopagus hill.
Overlooking Acropolis by night, with homemade sweet sour cherries as well as our own handmade liquor or an ice cold homemade sour cherry juice, we offer a whole new level of open air cinema experience.
We are happy to welcome you daily, every night with one or two movies. You can check our website or instagram for more info.
