Ancient Streets of Athens
Tripodon
Tripodon street is located at Plaka and connects Lysikratous square to the center of the city.
Thespidos
Thespidos is close to tripodon, you can find it from Kydathineon & Adrianou. If you follow that route, you will enter the Parthenon, through the road that goes around Acropolis.
You can also discover a part of Athens Long Walls there.
Long Walls
Apart from Thespidos, Athens Walls were all around the city.
Panathineon
A famous street was Panathineon, that was the main celebration route, going uphill to Acropolis. It still can be found inside Athens Agora, at modern Adrianou Street.
Iera Odos
Sacred Way passes from Keramikos and Dipylon, today a modern archaeological site. You can also visit the museum, located at the same space.
Plato’s Academy
Plato’s Academy, can be found at modern Kolonos, where Kolonos hill is also located. It is a big open park, where you can walk with your pet. Unfortunately there is no museum in the area.
Pikionis Pathway
A modern arxchitectural project, that of architect Dimitris Pikionis, connected Acropolis with Filopappou hill, Pnyx hill and nearby monument. A must-to-do in Athens. Pnyx was the place where democracy was born and all Athenian citizens were gathering there for centuries, once a month, of the Athenian calendar of course, not modern dates.
Adrianou
Adrianou has two parts, the second one starting from Old agora Square, and going up to Lysikratous, from where you can see Hadrian’s gate.
The first part is located from Thissio metro station and connects the city with Monastiraki- where Plaka starts.
